Boardwalk Empire 1920’s Inspired Wedding Details

My favorite new TV show is HBO’s Boardwalk Empire which is set in a 1920’s Atlantic City at the start of Prohibition. Rich with fascinating and factually accurate storylines, interesting characters, beautiful fashions and the excitement of the era, Boardwalk Empire could inspire any modern bride to develop a passion for the roaring 20’s!

Boardwalk Empire features many French couture dresses which were totally en vogue but only the most wealthy women could afford them. Here are some stylish 1920’s-inspired wedding fashions for today’s bygone era-loving brides that are actually affordable!

Of course these 1920’s fashions are not limited to just women. Boardwalk Empire centers largely on kingpin Nucky Thompson (played by Steve Buscemi), who runs Atlantic City and makes a killing off of the sale of illegal alcohol, illegal gambling, racketeering and a variety of other naughty misdoings. All those sins aside, Nucky is a memorable, likable character with a fashion sense all his own. Often seen sporting a stylish pin-striped suit, a colored tie and a fedora, Nucky never goes out on the town without his signature red carnation boutonniere. So 1920’s Grooms, take some style cues from Nucky!

And speaking of style, it doesn’t get more stylish than the automobiles in the show! They could not be more perfect to drive home from the boardwalk in…here is a similar one that was used for a recent 20’s-inspired wedding…

So be inspired by Boardwalk Empire and do up your 1920’s wedding in style!
