It’s my pleasure to welcome back photographer Zoe Longergan to Perfect Bound. Zoe always shoots the most stylish weddings, and this Napa Valley celebration is no exception. Alicia and Marcus were married at Auberge du Soleil, an intimate resort and spa located in Northern California and set amidst the rolling hills of wine country. The bride’s gown, designed by Carolina Herrera, was at once both classic and modern. Read full post…

Like so many other Americans, I was introduced to the work of South African designer – Pieter Erasmus after seeing an asymmetrical gem of a necklace in 2009, adorning the neck of US. First Lady – Michelle Obama.

The sophistication and boldness of Pieter’s style has roots grounded in heritage and high-end luxury: A fusion of culture and craftsmanship.  As a high-end jeweler designer for such names as Givenchy, Erickson Beamon, and Cavalli, Pieter decided to expand his unique talents in a solo venture.  Fortunately for us, that venture led to the creation of St. Erasmus, an

Candice and Jared’s carefully arranged summer wedding included elements of new, old borrowed and…purple. The color itself is so dramatic but when poised against a summer palette of yellow, green and lace, it becomes even more enchanting. Here’s a little shopping palette inspired by Candice and Jared’s wedding tablescape. I love how the dramatic cutaway on this Acne Free Flower Printed Dress cuts down on the delicateness without loosing an ounce of feminity. These Torotix Earrings are the perfect shade of purple, and who doesn’t love a blush heel? Happy shopping! Read full post…

These days we’re all finding ways to make a difference.  When it comes to wedding planning, brides are embracing more eco-friendly ideas for their big day.  Sometimes, placing a dent on your social consciousness can involve donating to charity.  Whether it’s opting out of traditional gift registries for donations to a designated cause, raising awareness through symbolic dates, colors and ribbons, or picking vendors who’s business platforms are based on social giving as well as cultural style.

Soulful moon is a boutique stationery company that’s recently launched a luxury line of handcrafted wedding, baby, and kid’s cards focused on the Indian, Pakistani, Middle Eastern, and African communities.  However, it’ s not just their style aesthetic that I’m excited about.

Soulful moon offers cultural chic ideas for a great cause.  Core to their stationery business is a philanthropic venture in which a portion of all proceeds goes towards social change. Earlier this year,

What girl doesn’t love accessories? I always remember back to what Nina Garcia said during her Style Strategy book tour about wearing a piece of jewelry that evokes a particular memory, especially when you want to make a big impression. Of course, there’s no better time to make a big impression than on your wedding day.

Today we welcome back Jordana from Hazelnut Photography who was kind enough to share Candice and Jared’s summer wedding with us. Read full post…

Have you seen Springmaid’s editorial ads?  They’re stunning.  I love the play on whimsy, fantasy and nature.  It’s a successful campaign if you ask me, because all I want to do is get in that bed and lose myself in a blissful dream.

So in the spirit of dreaming under the heavens, I got a little curious as to what options are available around the globe, to appeal to that insatiable appetite for skylight romance.  Whether you want a unique honeymoon experience, or just want to get away for a bit, I’ve found some remarkable outdoor lodging moods around the world.  Oh, and I couldn’t resist: dream palettes to go with each mood.

GETAWAY #1: CHATEAU UNDER THE STARS

{Above: L’Abereta Resort – on lake Isea, Brescia Province, Italy; Bed photo via Conde Nast Traveler}

Who doesn’t love the idea of secluding your loved ones in an exclusive chateau dream palette for a weekend?  It can be costly, but if you are fortunate enough to be able to afford a chateau resort for your wedding day, I recommend the couple’s suite and spa treatment package.

GETAWAY #2: BEACH FRONT UNDER THE STARS

{Above: Las Ventanas al Paraiso – Los Cabos, Mexico; Bed photo via Conde Nast Traveler}

Going for a dreamy beach wedding can be a fun choice.  Just be aware that the ocean breeze (although soothing on a cd) can be brutal to an unsuspecting hairdo.

GETAWAY #3: BEDOUIN DESERT UNDER THE STARS

{Above: Desert Nights Camp – Ibra, Oman Desert}

For a rustic Bedouin- inspired dream palette, you can be sure to indulge in chic nomadic designs that include Persian rugs, pillow, oil lamps, large tents, storytellers and breezy attire.  Or you could turn up the volume on Bedouin luxury with champagne, hor d’oeuvres and of course, diamonds.

GETAWAY #4: SAF
