Template of the Week: Airplane Save The Date

Spread the news — and give guests a heads up for a destination wedding — with these paper airplane Save the Dates. Your relatives will love the playful packaging, and will really appreciate the early notice to book flights of their own.

To make, download our editable PDF. Change the date to match your wedding date (the letters may turn black when you type, but don’t worry — they’ll be red when you print them out). You’ll need to write in your details by hand, or use design software. Print onto 8 1/2-inch x 11-inch text-weight graph or plain white paper, and use a straight edge and craft knife to cut between the crop marks (do not cut all the way to the edge of the paper).

To fold your printed plane, follow the easy instructions below.

1 Mark the center crease by folding the long edges together, face in; then unfold the paper and lay it face down, with the airplane pointing up. Fold top corners down to meet the middle crease.

2 Fold corners in a second time, bringing upper sides to meet at the middle.

3 Fold upper sides a third time to the center crease.

4 Refold the center crease, then open the wings out. Write your message on the wings.

How are you getting the message out about your destination wedding to loved ones?
