Milk and Cookies

Ive been daydreaming lately about what it means to be a child.  Im fascinated by my daughter (now almost 20 months old), whos grasp for vocabulary is growing at rapid speed.  Among other things, the terms innocence, play, summer come to mind, when  I watch her.

However on a more tactile level, when I reminisce over what it meant to be a kid, the terms dirty fingernails, crunched sweets in the back of your teeth, and the smell of  factory vinyl from opened toy packaging.  Admittedly, many of you will also include the taste and smell of warm cookies, along side a tall glass of milk, to your arsenal of childhood memories.  In fact, many couples today chose to have a milk and cookie bar as their dessert option.

I personally didnt grow up accustomed to having milk and cookies as an event. It seems very much a western combination.  However, I did enjoy my fair share of desserts, which I am yet to find packaged on the shelf at an American grocery store like poff poff, a deep-fried beignet that s very popular in Cameroon (and other West African countries).  This reality thus led me to the question: Whats a woman to do, if she wants to design a Milk and Cookie bar thats personal to her upbringing and/or style?  (After all, we didnt all grow up with Chips Ahoy.)

So it begins: A nouveau approach to Milk and Cookies, narrated by women of many cultures

So for your next dessert bar think back to your childhood.  What makes you, YOU?  Whats your mood?  If you could come up with a bestselling book title about your childhood, what would it be called? .Youll probably find a truly unique style of cookie (and fashion ensemble) waiting to be devoured.  Have a great day, everyone.
