The wedding will be watched by millions around the world, but when it’s all over — Prince William won’t have anything to show for it on his ring finger. That’s right, according to insiders at the palace, the prince won’t be wearing a wedding ring on his finger, says People.com.
A spokesperson for the palace says, “There is only going to be one ring, in accordance with the couple’s wishes.” No word really, on why the Prince is opting to skip the tradition of wearing a band. Kate’s wedding band, as we reported earlier, will be made from rare Welsh gold.
The gold, which is extremely rare, has been kept in royal vaults since it was originally presented to Queen Elizabeth, William’s grandmother. A tiny amount will be molded into Kate’s ring, likely by Crown Jeweler Harry Collins.
Prince William’s father, Prince Charles, does wear a wedding band, occasionally visible underneath his signet ring. Would you be upset if your husband-to-be didn’t want to wear a wedding band after the wedding?
