The Guest List, Best Man Speech, and New Rumors on The Dress(es)

For most brides, the last person you’d want at your wedding is your ex. Well, how about six of them? That’s exactly how many former paramours Kate and William have invited to the big day, reports Dailymail.co.uk. Four of William’s exes, including Davina Duckworth-Chad, who was once thought to be William’s potential bride, will be in attendance, while Kate sent invites to two of her ex-beaus, including St. Andrews classmate Rupert Finch (maybe she just wants to make sure they all see how “taken” he really is).

In other guest list news, Kate’s wayward uncle Gary Goldsmith will be welcome at the wedding after all, despite whisperings otherwise, reports Dailymail.co.uk. Goldsmith was filmed by reporters possibly using cocaine, leading some to (incorrectly) assume that he’d be left out of the wedding. As for the rest of the list? The pair have said they don’t want their special day to be a celebrity wedding, inviting mostly close friends and family. (Then again, we do know a few A-listers made the cut).

Not everyone is happy with the strict rules of the guest list. Even though the number of invitees is huge, (NYDailynews.com is reporting that 1,900 ceremony invites were sent out), some are still feeling snubbed. Telegraph.co.uk reports that the wives of many lord lieutenants and ambassadors will be barred from the wedding, making for plenty domestic unrest.

William himself might also be red-faced during the wedding, or at least the reception. BBC.co.uk caught up with Prince Harry, where the single prince dished about his best man speech. Apparently, the speech will be written by Harry and a couple of Will’s friends. “Between the three of us, we’ll make sure that we dig him in the ribs a few times and embarrass him,” Harry says. “Make him lose some hair.”

You’d think Harry might want to stay on William’s good side, especially since after the wedding, it’s been reported that Wills and Kate will temporarily make a home at Clarence House, in London, shacking up with Harry. No word yet on where the royla newlyweds will actually settle, but Buckingham Palace, St. James’s Palace and Kensington Palace are all in the running to serve as the couple’s home base.

And finally, we’ve heard rumors about Alexander McQueen, but now Fashionista.com reports that one of Kate’s three possible dresses will be by British designer Jasper Conran. (What’s even more suspicious? The photos of Conran’s bridal collection have been removed from his website.)

Rumors also say that Kate will have two more dresses as a backup, in case this real gown is leaked to the public! We’ve heard from an industry insider that one of Kate’s three ensembles for the day will be a short dress, probably worn to the evening reception.

And yet another doll in Kate’s likeness has officially gone on sale at a London toy store, Dailymail.co.uk reports. The doll comes complete with a replica of her Eaton clutch, gold slingbacks, and engagement ring with a real purple amethyst. This isn’t the first doll that we’ve seen, but we have to admit… it might be the worst.
